The Manchester United loanee<\/a> probably had his quietest 45 minutes in a Bristol City shirt in the opening 45 minutes, as he didn\u2019t have an awful lot to do between the posts. As we have mentioned time and time again this term, he has become incredibly dependable back there, and while Wednesday didn\u2019t ask too many questions, he still impressed.<\/p>\n Rob Dickie (off for George Tanner, 46\u2019) – 7<\/p>\n While he won\u2019t get the credit for Bristol City\u2019s opener, and he shouldn\u2019t, as it looked from our vantage point in the press box that his shot was heading well wide, Dickie was once again solid at the heart of defence. The former QPR man did what was required of him in a defensive sense before being replaced at the break. Hopefully, that was a tactical shift rather than the result of an injury.<\/p>\n Rob Atkinson – 7.5<\/p>\n Although the opposition were by no means the best Bristol City will face in the Championship this season, Rob Atkinson<\/a> went about his business incredibly well from the left of the backline while also popping up with a couple of those trademark attacking runs from defence. Seemingly – and actually did – win every duel he entered, both in the air and on the ground, and wasn\u2019t afraid to launch the ball forward at times.<\/p>\n Mark Sykes (off for Yu Hirakawa, 59\u2019) – 6.5<\/p>\n Because of the frantic nature of the game, it didn\u2019t feel as though Mark Sykes was incredibly involved, particularly in an attacking sense, before he was replaced by Yu Hirakawa. It was his pass that allowed Anis Mehmeti to pick out Emil Riis for City\u2019s second in the first half, and it was one of several smart efforts he produced in the first half. Mr Consistent is one of the most important parts of this team and he proves it time and time again.<\/p>\n Adam Randell (off for Max Bird, 59\u2019) – 7<\/p>\n While Adam Randell was still incredibly effective<\/a> in the middle of the park at Hillsborough, he didn\u2019t quite seem to have the same impact he managed against both Hull and Derby before the international break. Broke up possession well and kept things simple in possession as he looked to move the ball forward wherever possible. He seemed to get caught on it on a couple of occasions. By no means a poor display at all.<\/p>\n Ross McCrorie (off for Neto Borges, 86\u2019) – 7.5<\/p>\n On his less natural left side, the Scotland international was once again a constant threat on the ball and solid off of it. It was often his movement that provided the space in which Anis Mehmeti was able to thrive<\/a>, and had the Albanian been a bit more clinical at times, Ross McCrorie could have left Hillsborough with an assist or two to his name. He is quickly becoming one of the Reds\u2019 most consistent players.<\/p>\n Scott Twine – 7.5<\/p>\n Even when he was arguably the quietest of the Robins\u2019 front three in the first half, Scott Twine managed to pick up an assist. His cross into the feet of Anis Mehmeti was well-weighted as he took his time before providing the Albanian with an age to find the back of the net. Went about his business smartly in the second half, even if he and his teammates didn\u2019t quite carry the same attacking threat.<\/p>\n Anis Mehmeti – 8.5<\/p>\n In all honesty, it all looked a little too easy for Anis Mehmeti at times on Saturday afternoon. Whenever the Albanian got on the ball in the first half, he caused problems, whether it was the smart pass that assisted Emil Riis\u2019 strike or the composed finish for his own strike midway through the first period. From the first minute, he caused Wednesday\u2019s backline problems as he looked to run the channels and held the ball up well. His finish for the Robins\u2019 second was incredibly smart and the exact sort of goal he was brought to BS3 to score. He faded slightly in the second half before making way for Sinclair Armstrong<\/a>, but did more than his job before that.<\/p>\n Substitutes:George Tanner – 6.5<\/p>\n Solid if not spectacular when introduced in place of Rob Dickie at the break. Certainly a good backup option to have on the right of that back three.<\/p>\n Yu Hirakawa – 6<\/p>\n Another lively cameo on the right side.
