Nick Woltemade has been dubbed \u2018one of the most exciting players in Europe\u2019 after scoring on his Newcastle United<\/a> debut on Saturday.<\/p>\n Woltemade was Newcastle\u2019s matchwinner this weekend as the Magpies beat Wolves 1-0 to register their first Premier League<\/a> win of the season.<\/p>\n Newcastle signed Woltemade in a club record \u00a369m deal<\/a> in the summer transfer window as a replacement for Alexander Isak, who joined Liverpool.<\/p>\n Woltemade is brand new to the Premier League \u2013 having arrived from Stuttgart \u2013 but shined on his first appearance for Eddie Howe<\/a>\u2019s side.<\/p>\n The 23-year-old Germany international forward completed 89 per cent of his passes, won three of his four aerial duels and had five touches in the opposition box against Wolves.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tYour ultimate guide to the football season\t\t\t<\/p>\n Metro’s football newsletter: In The Mixer. Very strong, I was very pleased with him. <\/p>\n \t\t \u2018Tactically he understood what we wanted. It was a shift for him, he had cramp at the end. [But] he took his goal brilliantly.\u2019<\/p>\n Woltemade, meanwhile, said: \u2018It felt amazing, just all the fans, everybody was happy, I was happy. <\/p>\n \u2018Of course, right now if you\u2019ve won the game that\u2019s more important also. I\u2019m very happy about it.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018The Premier League is quite hard, I had to [be substituted] out because I had cramps. For the first game I think it\u2019s OK to come in. <\/p>\n \u2018It was amazing, the atmosphere, the team played really good balls, they involved me a lot. I think we did quite good.<\/p>\n \u2018I just try to play my game, like to drop off from the nine and come to where I can get the balls. <\/p>\n \u2018I want to adapt to this league, its really hard. I want to look forward and keep going.\u2019<\/p>\n Newcastle also signed Yoane Wissa from Brentford this summer and Howe is hoping that the two new forwards can play together in the XI.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s something we can do and we\u2019ll look at,\u2019 Howe said. \u2018I don\u2019t know if we want to change the tactical framework too much but I\u2019ll never rule anything out.\u2019<\/p>\n Woltemade conjured up 18 goals across 36 games for Bundesliga side Stuttgart before he moved to Newcastle in the summer window.<\/p>\n He\u2019ll be hoping to get back on the scoresheet when Newcastle face Barcelona in the Champions League on Thursday.<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow![\"Newcastle](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2235223815.jpg\")
