The three times Motor Transport haulier of the year winner said the purchase represented a significant milestone for the group, helping with its expansion strategy as well as delivering benefits to customers.<\/p>\n
It added that with both businesses sharing a heritage of being family-led, the acquisition was a natural fit.<\/p>\n

Longs of Leeds can trace its beginnings back to 1918 after Joe Long – Andrew\u2019s grandfather – returned from the First World War.<\/p>\n
It currently holds an international licence authorising 105 HGVs and 200 trailers.<\/p>\n
Expect is based in Bradford and employs over 450 staff across three sites in the West Yorkshire city, as well as at its Colchester-based business, Pallet Plus.<\/p>\n
