Prince William is opening up<\/a> about his youngest son\u2019s budding musical talent. While visiting a youth group in London on September 9, the Prince of Wales revealed that 7-year-old Prince Louis is learning how to play different instruments and already shows a strong interest in music.<\/p>\n

Prince Louis\u2019 Musical Skills<\/p>\n

William was quick to note that while he isn\u2019t a drummer, his son would have gladly joined in on the fun. \u201cI\u2019m definitely not a drummer,\u201d he told one of the teens during the visit, according to Hello! magazine<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m happy to see you do it. If my youngest was here, he\u2019d have a go because he\u2019s practicing at the moment. I wish I started when I was your age.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old royal reflected on his own musical background, sharing that he once played piano, trumpet, and drums.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t read music, so that was my biggest weakness,\u201d he explained. \u201cI started off playing piano, trumpet and the drums, and then realized I had to memorize every tune, and it just fell away.\u201d<\/p>\n

William added that he and Kate Middleton are committed to encouraging all three of their children\u2014Princess Charlotte, 10, Prince George, 12, and Louis, 7\u2014to develop their skills. \u201cI make sure my children learn music because I love music,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s crucial \u2014 really important.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince William Calls His Youngest a \u2018Character\u2019<\/p>\n

During another engagement just one day earlier, William gave a rare glimpse into his youngest son\u2019s personality. While meeting with the National Federation of Women\u2019s Institute on September 8, which coincided with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth\u2019s death, he was asked by member Nina Derrick if Louis was \u201ca bit of a handful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a character, but he\u2019s a very good boy. He likes to wind his brother and sister up,\u201d William replied, according to the Daily Mail<\/a>. The Prince of Wales also noted that George isn\u2019t always the quiet and sensible child the public sees. \u201cWhen George is behind closed doors, it\u2019s completely different. George just knows how to behave,\u201d he said with a smile.<\/p>\n

The royal siblings most recently appeared together at Trooping the Colour in June, where Louis charmed the crowd by sneaking in the final wave as the family left the Buckingham Palace balcony. After the event, the Wales family retreated for their annual summer break. William admitted with a laugh this week that his children are now back in school, saying, \u201cThankfully, yes!\u201d<\/p>\n
