A man behind an anti-immigrant Saltire campaign is a Nazi sympathising racist<\/a> who called for refugees to be \u201cgassed\u201d, we can reveal.<\/p>\n

Kieran Logan, 27, co-runs the Tartan Team campaign which has seen hundreds of Scotland flags raised on lamp posts across Glasgow.<\/a> It is part of the UK-wide Raise the Colours phenomenon.<\/p>\n

The group claims to represent \u201cyoung dads\u201d with genuine fears over illegal immigration.<\/a><\/p>\n

But we can reveal Logan, who has an online crowdfunder, mocked the deaths of migrants<\/a> on a capsized boat as \u201cf****n amazing\u201d and branded Muslim men \u201cperverts\u201d on social media earlier this month.<\/p>\n

On his now deleted X account, Logan wrote \u201cgas them all\u201d, referring to asylum seekers, and shared a video of a podcast praising Hitler. He also hailed a post by far-right activist Tommy Robinson<\/a> praising the \u201cbeautiful scenes\u201d of Saltires being raised.<\/p>\n

Roz Foyer, of the STUC<\/a>, said: \u201cIt\u2019s risible those raising Saltires still cling to the false narrative they\u2019re doing it for civic pride and community protection.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is utterly false. In addition to despicably attacking local government workers<\/a> tasked with removing these items, graffiti calling for the death of migrants must seriously call into question the true intent of those cosplaying as community activists.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are legitimately aggrieved our communities are underinvested. That\u2019s not the fault of migrants, it\u2019s the fault of ministers<\/a>. We would appeal to them to direct their ire towards politicians, not those who have fled famine, war and torture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Father Jim Lawlor, of the Immaculate Conception parish on Maryhill Road, has hit out at anti-migrant<\/a> political rhetoric inflaming divisions. He said the flag\u2019s movement was \u201cmasquerading as patriotism, but it\u2019s on the back of something far more sinister\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook<\/a> video he added: \u201cThe people of Maryhill are welcoming folk on behalf of the people I serve and I love, we\u2019ll have none of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raising Saltires<\/a> in the north of the city coincided with hateful graffiti. At a play park in Summerston, \u201cSink the boats\u201d was sprayed on a wall next to a flag. The Tartan Team denies involvement with the graffiti.<\/p>\n

Council workers taking down flags have faced a aggressive abuse. When the public tried to remove flags in Maryhill, the Tartan Team Facebook account posted pictures with a message: \u201cCan anyone name these scum\u201d.<\/p>\n

Saltires have appeared across Scotland. Aberdeenshire Council<\/a> was forced to halt removal due to threats. Raise the Colours began in England with raising Union Jacks and St George\u2019s flags in what activists said is a show of community pride and patriotism.<\/p>\n

But anti-racism<\/a> campaigners say the movement is clearly being whipped up by far-right agitators.<\/p>\n

In X posts first reported by the Glasgow Bell<\/a>, Logan responded to a video allegedly showing asylum seekers fighting in Spain by writing: \u201cGas them all.\u201d He used this phrase multiple times. He also reposted a video claiming to expose the location of a purported asylum hotel in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

On Instagram<\/a>, he commented on a story about 26 migrants dying off Italy: \u201cAmazing that \u2013 stay in your own country\u201d with a series of laughing emojis. He also posted an AI image of a white girl surrounded by men depicted as Muslims saying: \u201cPerverts need to go, everyone a them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, he shared a video on X<\/a> of a podcast with US antisemitic conspiracy theorist Ken O\u2019Keefe.<\/p>\n

In the clip, O\u2019Keefe says \u201cNazi\u201d was a \u201cderogatory term created by the Jews\u201d. He added: \u201cThe answer for America today lies in the one place everybody mind-controlled will never look \u2013 Germany and a man named Adolf.\u201d<\/p>\n

Our revelations come despite Tartan team claims their campaign is not anti-immigration.<\/p>\n

Raise the Colours was linked to protests at asylum hotels in England. The Tartan Team have said they don\u2019t support the demos.<\/p>\n

SNP MSP for Maryhill and Springburn Bob Doris, who recently raised the issue of Saltires and anti-migrant graffiti at FMQs with John Swinney, told the Sunday Mail: \u201cThere is nothing racist in flying the Saltire. The important thing is that we show kindness, dignity and respect. These posts fall far short of that ambition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glasgow MSP Patrick Harvie of the Greens said: \u201cThese views are grotesque and have no place in our politics or our city. These extremists are hijacking flags in a bid to spread division and hatred.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe face a very dangerous moment, and the work the Sunday Mail is doing exposing the prejudice and bigotry that threatens our society is really important.\u201d<\/p>\n

We approached the Tartan Team online for comment and visited a family address for Logan but received no response.<\/p>\n
