\n The University of Strathclyde<\/a>‘s freshers week will see Richmond Street, east of North Portland Street, shut from 7am on Sunday, September 14, until 10pm on Friday, September 19.\n<\/p>\n

\n The closure is in place to protect\u00a0new students and other road users.\n<\/p>\n

\n The university’s student union has organised a jam-packed week of activities including fairs, trips, karaoke, quizzes, drag bingo, and an international food fair, with more events promised.\n<\/p>\n

\n The road closure will impact all vehicles, with the exception of emergency service vehicles responding to emergencies or vehicles that have received special permission from Glasgow City Council<\/a>‘s events section.\n<\/p>\n

\n The restrictions also include a prohibition on waiting, loading, and unloading.\n<\/p>\n

\n The road closure is expected to cause some disruption in the city centre, but it is deemed necessary to ensure the safety of all those attending the freshers’ week events.\n<\/p>\n
