However thing went out of control when officers moved in to stop them. The force said, law enforcement authorities faced \u201cunacceptable violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were assaulted with kicks and punches. Bottles, flares and other projectiles were thrown. Nine arrests have been made so far for various offences, but many more people have been identified as committing offences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Robinson vows \u2018cultural revolution\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The anti-immigration protest, dubbed as &#8216;Unite the Kingdom&#8217; was led by 42-year-old Tommy Robinson who has multiple convictions and a large online following. He branded the rally as country&#8217;s \u201cbiggest free speech festival\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe silent majority will be silent no longer,\u201d Robinson told the crowd. \u201cToday is the spark of a cultural revolution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marchers carrying English and British flags crossed Westminster Bridge before gathering near Downing Street for speeches by far-right figures from Europe and North America, including French politician Eric Zemmour and Petr Bystron of Germany\u2019s AfD.<\/p>\n<p>Elon Musk also joined via video-link, telling the crowd: \u201cWhether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you. You either fight back or you die.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Placards included \u201cstop the boats\u201d slogans and photos of Conservative American activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p> \u2018We want our country back&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The demonstration came amid rising anti-immigration sentiment, with Nigel Farage\u2019s Reform UK party gaining in polls and asylum-seeker hotels becoming protest flashpoints.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an invasion,\u201d said Ritchie, 28, referring to record migration levels. \u201cThey don\u2019t understand we want our country back,\u201d reported AFP.<\/p>\n<p>Philip Dodge, a retired baker from Sheffield, told the news agency: \u201cEveryday in the papers you read things and you&#8217;re being left stunned \u2013 arresting people because they dared to talk about immigration or gender issues. I\u2019m very concerned.
