A man has been hospitalised<\/a> after a “disturbance” near a supermarket in Edinburgh this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The incident saw police rush to the scene on Nicolson Street near a Lidl supermarket at around 3pm. A 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, reports Edinburgh Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although his condition is not currently known, officers<\/a> have said enquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n

A resident who was on a bus passing by the incident said there were two police<\/a> vehicles on Nicolson Street, parked on either side of the road.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland<\/a> spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Tuesday, 22 April, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Nicolson Street, Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

“Emergency services attended and a 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Enquiries<\/a> are ongoing.”<\/p>\n
