Real Madrid could launch a \u201csurprising\u201d move for Mohamed Salah once he approaches the end of his new contract at Liverpool, sources have told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n Salah committed his future to Liverpool<\/a> by signing a two-year deal in April to extend his stay at Anfield until 2027, and will have seen out 10 seasons as one of the Reds\u2019 greatest-ever players when it expires.<\/p>\n As I revealed on the latest edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a><\/strong>, Salah will have his pick of clubs when he does decide to leave Liverpool<\/a>, and has now been linked to one of their European rivals.<\/p>\n Football Insider <\/strong>revealed on Friday that Salah isn\u2019t guaranteed to see out the next two years at Liverpool<\/a> and could soon make a decision on his future, with the Saudi Pro League<\/a> his most probable destination.<\/p>\n However, my sources have stated that Real Madrid<\/a> have been linked with a surprise move for Salah, and he could be set to follow Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> and possibly Ibrahima Konate<\/a> to the Santiago Bernabeu.<\/p>\n Sources have told Football Insider<\/strong> that Madrid\u2019s interest in Salah<\/a>, he is unlikely to make such a move so late in his career, but will be open to offers from all suitors when he leaves Liverpool as a 35-year-old in 2027.<\/p>\n Keith Wyness told Football Insider<\/strong> in June that Saudi Pro League clubs will return with improved offers for Salah and Bruno Fernandes<\/a>, who chose to stay put at Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Liverpool will be in no hurry to do business with Madrid after Alexander-Arnold\u2019s exit and their continued pursuit of the out-of-contract Konate, and the prospect of Salah making the same move is unthinkable.<\/p>\n \u201cReal Madrid? Real Madrid are getting linked with everybody\u201d, I said on the new Inside Track podcast<\/a>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d be surprised if Madrid were to make a move for Salah now \u2013\u00a0maybe at this stage of his career, that opportunity has gone by. <\/p>\n \u201cMo Salah, just look at his CV. If he does end up doing these two years at Anfield and moving on, he will have a pick of clubs of where he wants to go to, so it\u2019ll be one of those ones. <\/p>\n \u201cMo Salah will probably decide what he wants to do, rather than anybody else.\u201d<\/p>\n Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 8 September that Real Madrid are ready to cause Liverpool more misery by potentially beating them to Marc Guehi\u2019s signing next summer<\/a>, after his own move to Anfield collapsed.<\/p>\n While this would surely allow Liverpool to retain Konate, Real Madrid having Guehi<\/a> and Alexander-Arnold in their defensive line and potentially Salah in their attack will be an unpalatable thought at Anfield.<\/p>\n![\"Ibrahima](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Konate-RM-23325-fi-web-1024x576.png\")
