Most protestors were peaceful, but a number of officers were assaulted and arrests have been made.<\/p>\n<p>Violence and attacking police officers is completely unacceptable.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The Met said 25 people had been arrested for a range of offences in what it described as \u201cwholly unacceptable\u201d violence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Marchers were arrested for a range of offences, including affray, violent disorder, assaults and criminal damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Because of the size of the demonstration, the Met was supported by officers from other forces, including Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and Devon and Cornwall.<\/p>\n<p>People march at the Unite the Kingdom rally in central London. Elsewhere, about 5,000 anti-racism campaigners mounted a counter-protest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The crowds were addressed by Elon Musk, who dialled in via video link and spoke of \u201cthe rapidly increasing erosion of Britain\u201d, before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2025\/sep\/13\/elon-musk-calls-for-dissolution-of-parliament-at-far-right-rally-in-london\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calling for the dissolution of the UK parliament<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Protesters clash with police at far-right rally in London \u2013 video\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/5210.jpg\" height=\"259\" width=\"460\" class=\"dcr-1qi2at0\"\/>Protesters clash with police at far-right rally in London \u2013 video<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Business and trade secretary <strong>Peter Kyle<\/strong> was asked by Sky News\u2019 Trevor Phillips this morning if the demonstration \u2013 organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson <strong>\u2013 <\/strong>\u201cdisturbed\u201d him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Kyle said the number of people who turned out for the protest shows free speech is \u201calive and well\u201d in the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">He explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-spacefinder-role=\"inline\" class=\"dcr-154zxly\">\n<p>It doesn\u2019t disturb me, because it\u2019s actually proof that we live in a country where free speech, free association, is alive and well. <\/p>\n<p>The bit that disturbs me is that when a minority go to an extreme and end up perpetrating violence against the police.
