A TEENAGER from Eastville has been charged with attempted murder after a \u201cserious assault\u201d in Easton last week.<\/p>\n
Mohammed Akakhail, aged 19, of Shamrock Road, made a first appearance before Bristol Magistrates Court yesterday.<\/p>\n
He also faces a charge of possession of a bladed article.<\/p>\n
A 20-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but has been released on conditional police bail while the police investigation continues.<\/p>\n
A 41-year-old man who was also arrested following the incident has been released with no further action.<\/p>\n
The incident was reported to emergency services at about 2.40pm on Friday, and police kept part of Stapleton Road cordoned off that night while they carried out forensic investigations.<\/p>\n
The victim remained in hospital yesterday, although police said his injuries were no longer believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n
Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Serena Serjeant said: \u201cThis is a significant update in our investigation and we\u2019ve updated the victim\u2019s family on this development.<\/p>\n
