{"id":423440,"date":"2025-09-14T10:22:35","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T10:22:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/423440\/"},"modified":"2025-09-14T10:22:35","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T10:22:35","slug":"elon-musk-speaks-to-110000-tommy-robinson-protesters-at-london-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/423440\/","title":{"rendered":"Elon Musk speaks to 110,000 Tommy Robinson protesters at London rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Elon Musk urged Britons to \u201cfight back or die\u201d against the \u201cdestruction of the country\u201d due to immigration in incendiary comments made at a rally in central London that descended into \u00adviolence on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The technology billionaire, who was speaking by video link at a \u201cUnite the Kingdom\u201d march organised by the far-right activist Tommy Robinson, called for a general election and accused the UK government of failing \u201cto protect innocent people including children who are getting gang-raped\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Musk, 54, owner of the social media platform X, claimed: \u201cThere\u2019s this genuine risk of rape and murder and the destruction of the country and the dissolution of the entire way of life. If you weren\u2019t under a massive attack then people should go about their business and live their lives, but unfortunately if the fight comes to you, you don\u2019t have a choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">He added: \u201cWhether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you. Shabana Mahmood said: \u201cThe right to peaceful protest is fundamental to this nation. I thank the police who worked hard to ensure much of today\u2019s protest was peaceful. But I condemn those who have attacked and injured police officers. This is a message to the reasonable centre, the people who ordinarily wouldn\u2019t get involved in politics, who just want to live their lives. They don\u2019t want that, they\u2019re quiet, they just go about their business. My message is to them: if this continues, that violence is going to come to you, you will have no choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">Musk, who was formerly a close ally of President Trump, also told the crowd that \u201cthe left is the party of murder\u201d in \u00adreference to the death of Kirk. He said: \u201cThere\u2019s so much violence on the left, with our friend Charlie Kirk getting \u00admurdered in cold blood this week and people on the left celebrating it openly. The left is the party of murder and celebrating murder. I mean, let that sink in for a minute, that\u2019s who we\u2019re dealing with here.\u201d He said that the British public were \u201cscared to exercise their [right to] free speech\u201d and claimed the BBC was \u201ccomplicit in the destruction of Britain\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A man in a Union Jack suit and hat at a Unite the Kingdom rally.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/\/efcd7c67-7620-4cb6-8573-5906e744604e.jpg\" class=\"responsive-sc-1nnon4d-0 bAbKns\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Protesters came from all over the world<\/p>\n<p>TOBY SHEPHEARD FOR THE SUNDAY TIMES<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">When they finished their conversation, Robinson said: \u201cNot only are we in the fight right now, but we\u2019re on the advance thanks to free speech being fought for, for us, by Elon Musk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">A Labour source said: \u201cThreats of violence have no place in our politics, and every politician who believes in democracy should distance themselves from these disgusting comments.\u201d Reform said it had no relationship with Musk. Nigel Farage, its leader, said last winter that he was in regular touch with the billionaire and that he had given \u201cserious thought\u201d to donating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">By about 4pm riot police, backed by mounted patrols and dog units, were struggling to protect a group of masked antifascists hemmed in at the top of Whitehall. Missiles and flares were thrown by Robinson supporters, with some hitting officers. Many chanted abuse at the police, mocked officers and spat at them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">The Met said on X: \u201cOfficers are having to intervene in multiple locations to stop Unite the Kingdom protesters trying to access sterile areas, breach police cordons or get to opposing groups. A number of officers have been assaulted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">It later added: \u201cThe turnout for the Unite the Kingdom protest was too big to fit into Whitehall. Protesters left the route on to Victoria Embankment and sought to access Whitehall from multiple directions \u2026 When officers moved in to stop them, they faced unacceptable violence. They were assaulted with kicks and punches. Bottles, flares and other projectiles were thrown.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"last-paragraph\" class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">More than 1,600 officers were deployed to deal with the demonstrations as well as several football fixtures in the capital.
