{"id":423442,"date":"2025-09-14T10:23:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T10:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/423442\/"},"modified":"2025-09-14T10:23:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T10:23:14","slug":"man-given-wrong-energy-rating-after-60k-green-upgrades-on-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/423442\/","title":{"rendered":"Man given wrong energy rating after \u00a360k green upgrades on house"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">All EPCs and the people who carry out the assessments must be accredited.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Elmhurst Energy runs software assessors used to collect information, calculate a rating and produce the certificate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Its CEO, Stuart Fairlie, said incorrect ratings was a common problem and he has had hundreds of complaints.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Unfortunately, the methodology by which the energy assessors uses is based on price and electricity is more expensive than gas,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Fairlie said the process was &#8220;out of date&#8221; but there was not a lot which could be done unless the government changed the methodology. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He said he hoped it would happen next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"All EPCs and the people who carry out the assessments must be accredited.
