Musk\u2019s comments are the latest in a war of words with the British government<\/a>. He has been a vocal critic of the U.K.\u2019s Online Safety Act, which he says threatens free speech, and has attacked Downing Street\u2019s handling of grooming gangs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really think that there\u2019s got to be a change of government in Britain<\/a>,\u201d Musk said Saturday. \u201cWe don\u2019t have another four years, or whenever the next election is \u2014 it\u2019s too long. There\u2019s got to be a dissolution of parliament and a new vote held<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Musk has talked about violence in Britain. Last year, he said \u201ccivil war is inevitable\u201d after riots broke<\/a> out over claims from far-right groups that a Muslim asylum seeker was responsible for the stabbing of three children. The disinformation campaign fueled anger against immigrants living in Britain.<\/p>\n

Musk has also turned on U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, accusing him of \u201ctwo-tier policing\u201d that punished right-wing protesters more than those from the left. The claim has been debunked but is still used by conspiracy theorists and populist politicians, such as Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.<\/p>\n

The attacks against Starmer\u2019s government continued during Saturday\u2019s appearance<\/a> at \u201cunite the kingdom\u201d rally, which drew more than 110,000 people<\/a> onto London\u2019s streets. The Guardian<\/a> described the rally as the largest nationalist event in decades.<\/p>\n
