\n Billionaire Elon Musk <\/a>on Saturday said that the United Kingdom needs \u201crevolutionary government change,\u201d speaking virtually at a far-right anti-immigration protest<\/a> in London.\n <\/p>\n

\n The comments from the world\u2019s richest man, a former adviser to Donald Trump, came days before the US president\u2019s upcoming state visit<\/a> to Britain, which is four years away from the next scheduled general election.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThere needs to be massive government reform in Britain and the people need to be in charge, not some bureaucracy that doesn\u2019t care,\u201d Musk said in a Q&A with far-right political activist Tommy Robinson<\/a>, the organizer of the rally, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe must have revolutionary government change\u2026 This really requires everyone to sort of marshal the people, to take charge, reform the government, and make sure that you actually have a government that is for the people, by the people,\u201d the billionaire said.\n <\/p>\n

\n Musk has been wading into UK politics for some time now. Last summer, during a wave of violent anti-immigration riots in Britain, the Tesla chief executive and owner of X said that \u201ccivil war is inevitable.<\/a>\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n In January, he said that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer should be in prison<\/a> when dredging up a years-long scandal over historic child sex abuse in parts of England.\n <\/p>\n

\n For a while, Musk was allied with Nigel Farage, <\/a>the leader of the populist party Reform UK<\/a>. But the friendship fell apart earlier this year when Farage refused to echo Musk\u2019s support for Robinson, the founder of the now-defunct anti-immigration English Defence League (EDL), who was previously jailed for being in contempt of court by repeating false accusations about a Syrian refugee.\n <\/p>\n

\n In other inflammatory remarks on Saturday, Musk told the crowd via livestream on a big screen that \u201cviolence is coming to you. You either fight back or you die.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n He also referenced the killing of the American political activist Charlie Kirk<\/a> in the United States on Wednesday, saying that \u201cpeople on the left\u201d were \u201copenly\u201d celebrating his death.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThe left is the party of murder and celebrating murder,\u201d Musk said.\n <\/p>\n

\n Britain\u2019s Business Secretary Peter Kyle called Musk\u2019s speech \u201cslightly incomprehensible\u201d and \u201ctotally inappropriate\u201d in an interview with the BBC on Sunday.\n <\/p>\n

\n But Kyle added that Robinson\u2019s protest – which drew between 110,000 and 150,000 demonstrators according to police – showed that those in power need to address \u201cbig concerns\u201d that the public may have, including immigration.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cI think these are moments that are klaxon calls to us in public life to redouble our efforts to address the big concerns that people right across our country have,\u201d Kyle said. He also said that the demonstration proved that free speech is \u201calive and well in this country.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n London\u2019s Metropolitan Police Service said 24 people were arrested, while 26 police officers were injured, including four seriously, at the far-right protest Saturday. Injuries included broken teeth, a possible broken nose, a concussion, a prolapsed disc and a head injury, the force said in a statement Saturday night.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe will not stand for assaults on police officers doing their job or for people feeling intimidated on our streets because of their background or the color of their skin,\u201d Starmer said in a post on X Sunday.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cBritain is a nation proudly built on tolerance, diversity and respect.
