There’s a lot to celebrate with openings overtaking closures\"LiverpoolLiverpool ONE has welcomed a huge array of brand names this year<\/p>\n

Although it can sometimes feel like places are closing all the time, this week the city welcomed a massive wave of openings, with both brand-new and long-standing spots throwing open their doors. The number of confirmed openings far outweighed the small number of business we had to say farewell to – a much welcome change!<\/p>\n

ARNE opened yesterday in Peter’s Lane withy massive queues forming for the clothing brand. Founded in 2018 by brothers Ryan and Reece Broadhurst<\/a>, the brand has established a loyal customer base. This is in part due to the company\u2019s offerings, which are said to be \u201chigh-quality, simple and minimalistic pieces for every occasion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Crazy Pedro’s site on Parr Street has been acquired by Black Cat Bar and Bottle Shop, which already boasts sites on Smithdown Road<\/a> and on Rose Lane in Mossley Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although an opening date is yet to be confirmed, the Black Cat team are well on their way to opening Black Cat Parr Street and breathing new life into the venue.<\/p>\n

Liverpool ONE is also on the cusp of welcoming yet more high-profile brand names with signage for the UK’s biggest POP MART store in the windows.<\/p>\n

Sadly, Chinese small plates restaurant Chamber 36 announced in a message on Instagram that it will be closing its Smithdown Road restaurant. The Instagram post, which was posted on Thursday, September 11, reads: “Due to the current climate in hospitality, we have decided to close our Smithdown Road<\/a> site. Our last day of trading will be September 20th.<\/p>\n

“We want to thank everyone who has supported us here over the past four years. We will be focusing all our efforts on our city centre restaurant and look forward to welcoming you there. All the love, Team Chamber 36 x.”<\/p>\n

At the start of the week, pub patrons got a fright when 1936 Pubco closed 16 venues across the city. Thankfully, it was only to give staff a well-deserved party and doors were back open the next day.<\/p>\n

Until September 21, Heritage Open Days will return with thousands of free events<\/a> taking place across the country. Heritage Open Days, which is England’s largest festival of history<\/a> and culture, will hold more than 5,800 events across its programme.<\/p>\n

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore dozens of beautiful buildings across the region and learn more about their fascinating history.<\/p>\n

HODs marketing and projects manager Liam Montgomery said: \u201c2025 is set to offer the most ambitious and wide-reaching Heritage Open Days programme yet, and it\u2019s brimming with great things to do.<\/p>\n

“Whether it\u2019s well-known landmarks and hidden architectural gems or community-led talks and immersive experiences, the sheer diversity of places and stories on offer is extraordinary.<\/p>\n
