THIS weekend\u2019s URC clash between Edinburgh Rugby and Zebre Parma at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi has been moved from Saturday evening to Friday evening to facilitate an official day of mourning in Italy, with the funeral of Pope Francis set to be held on Saturday at 10am. The switch has been arranged under Italian government instruction.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cFirstly, our thoughts are with all those affected by this week\u2019s very sad news,\u201d said Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Douglas Struth<\/strong>. \u201cThrough circumstances beyond our control, the funeral of Pope Francis has meant that our upcoming game against Zebre Parma in Italy now needs to be brought forward by 24 hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very grateful for the support and understanding of those fans who have already booked to back the team this weekend, including those travelling on the club\u2019s official package through Gulliver\u2019s Sports Travel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis package will continue to run with revised dates and timings and a full refund available for those who now cannot attend, plus a partial refund for those who can still travel reflecting the revised dates and timings.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have worked hard with Zebre and URC to ensure that the game does take place this weekend, and are looking forward to the match on Friday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Supporters that have booked will be contacted directly by Gulliver\u2019s regarding new dates and timings for the trip, plus refund options available.<\/p>\n

The match will still be broadcast via PremierSports, with full broadcast details to follow in due course.<\/p>\n

The Edinburgh Rugby \u2018A\u2019 fixture against Zebre \u2018A\u2019 that was also scheduled to take place in Parma on Saturday will no longer be played.<\/p>\n

An update on the Women\u2019s Six Nations fixture between Italy and Wales will also have to be rearranged with an update due soon.<\/p>\n
