\n The Daily Record reports that<\/a> Kieran Logan \u2013 co-runner of the Tartan Team campaign \u2013 mocked the death of migrants on a sunken boat, calling it \u201cf*****g amazing” in a social media post.\n<\/p>\n

\n Team Tartan encouraged people to hang Scotland flags on lamp posts across Glasgow as part of the Raise the Colours campaign, and paints itself as a group of \u201cyoung dads\u201d with fears over illegal immigration.\n<\/p>\n

\n Logan, 27, shared videos praising Hitler and said \u201cgas them all\u201d in reference to asylum seekers on his now-deleted Twitter\/X account. He also praised comments from far-right agitator Tommy Robinson,<\/a> who celebrated \u201cbeautiful scenes\u201d of Saltires being raised across Scotland.\n<\/p>\n

\n In a children\u2019s play park in Glasgow, \u201csink the boats\u201d was spray-painted on a wall next to one of the flags, though the Tartan Team has denied any links to the graffiti.\n<\/p>\n

\n Council staff in Aberdeen<\/a>, Glasgow, and Stirling<\/a> tasked with removing flags were met with abuse. A spokesperson for Aberdeenshire Council previously told The National<\/a> : \u201cSadly, we have also seen a rise in our staff being threatened when taking [flags] down.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt is entirely unacceptable to threaten any of our staff carrying out their jobs, and we will be asking the police to get involved.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Members of the public in Maryhill<\/a>, Glasgow, were pictured and posted on the Tartan Team Facebook page, accompanied by a message reading: \u201cCan anyone name these scum?\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n The Raise the Colours campaign began in England, with participants flying Union Jacks and St George flags in a so-called display of patriotism, though the Record reports that anti-racist campaigners have said the movement is being spurred by far-right agitators.\n<\/p>\n

\n The Glasgow Bell<\/a> linked Logan to a Team Tartan crowdfunder and revealed that Logan had called for asylum seekers to be gassed several times on Twitter\/X.\n<\/p>\n

\n The publication also directly linked Logan to the flag campaign, having verified a Facebook comment he posted which read: \u201cTime for a stand people if you want involved in the movement give me a message and I\u2019ll get you flags sorted or if you need help getting your flag up.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n Logan also shared an AI<\/a> generated image on Instagram of a white woman surrounded by men portrayed as Muslims with the caption: \u201cPerverts need to go, every one a [sic] them.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n The 27-year-old also commented on a story covering the death of roughly 26 migrants in Italy, calling it \u201camazing\u201d accompanied by laughing emojis and urging them to \u201cstay in your own country\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

\n Logan shared clips on Twitter\/X last month of American conspiracy theorist Ken O\u2019Keefe, who claimed that \u201cNazi\u201d was a \u201cderogatory\u201d name created by Jewish people before praising Adolf Hitler<\/a>, saying that the \u201canswer for America today lies in the one place everybody mind-controlled will never look\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

\n SNP<\/a> MSP Bob Doris, who raised Saltires and anti-migrant graffiti during First Minister\u2019s Questions, told the Sunday Mail: \u201cThere is nothing racist in flying the Saltire. The important thing is that we show kindness, dignity, and respect. These posts fall far short of that ambition.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Independence campaign group All Under One Banner previously urged against the “perversion” of the Saltire<\/a>, saying: “Scotland’s National flag \u2013 the Saltire, the St. Andrew’s Cross \u2013 symbolises the country of Scotland and the Scottish people, representing the people’s welcoming nature and the country’s strong character.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThe Saltire being raised in places just now in Scotland in solidarity with ‘operation raise the colours’ is not Scotland’s flag. That Saltire is the Saltire of the Union; the Union to exploit Scotland, the British flag, the Butcher\u2019s apron, that imperial monstrosity, a flag of racism and colonialism.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThat Saltire is for the exploitation of the people of Scotland, to divide us and maintain London rule.”\n<\/p>\n
