A family’s emotional reunion with their missing dog in the Yorkshire Dales has been captured by drone footage.<\/p>\n
Two-year-old cockapoo Molly went missing during the August Bank Holiday weekend – just after owner John Stringer had set off for a holiday in Turkey.<\/p>\n
Shortly after he landed, John received a phone call from his mother in Pateley Bridge who told him Molly had escaped and he took an early flight back home to try to find his beloved pet.<\/p>\n
He said the family, from Leeds, experienced “seven days of sleepless nights, of complete and utter panic,” before Molly was found with help from volunteers.<\/p>\n
The dog trackers, from a group called Busters Animal SOS Team, co-ordinated a search effort with residents from across the Yorkshire Dales, who shared sightings of Molly and CCTV footage.<\/p>\n
After warning people to stay away from the dog if they spotted her so that she was not spooked, the team were able to close in on Molly and arrange a successful rescue.<\/p>\n
“The volunteers were absolutely priceless,” said John.<\/p>\n
“I feel so lucky, in a way, that things happened [in Pateley Bridge]. The local people, I can’t thank them enough.”<\/p>\n
