The Edinburgh Sutherland Association has announced the successful applicants in its latest funding round.<\/p>\n
The association raises money through fundraising, donations and sponsorship, and is set to distribute more than \u00a34,200 to 10 good causes across the county.<\/p>\n

Association president Andrew Mackenzie, who is from Stoer, said: \u201cWe are proud that, over the past 15 years, the association has donated around \u00a340,000 to good causes in the county.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very grateful to everyone who has helped with our fundraising events and made donations. I am particularly grateful to David Mackay (Scourie), one of our committee members, who raised around \u00a32,400 for our charity with his Four Peaks Challenge in July.<\/a><\/p>\n We can only donate to local good causes if we raise money through fundraising, donations and sponsorship, so please get in touch if you would like to donate or get involved.\u201d<\/p>\n The successful applicants are:<\/p>\n F\u00e8is Air an Oir – \u00a3300 towards transport costs for the Ceilidh Trail Project<\/p>\n Historylinks Young Curators Club – \u00a3250 towards storage space costs.<\/p>\n Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust – \u00a3439.50 to fund the Perennial Plant Project<\/p>\n Sutherland Adventure Company SCIO – \u00a3500 towards the Sutherland Girls on Paddleboards<\/p>\n Culrain & District Community Hall – \u00a3379 for a new cooker<\/p>\n East Sutherland Canoe Club – \u00a3450 towards winter pool sessions<\/p>\n Golspie Primary School Parent Council – \u00a3720 to purchase a tin whistle for every pupil<\/p>\n Peter Wardhaugh – \u00a3500 towards the purchase of a new accordion<\/p>\n Go Golspie Development Trust – \u00a3225 towards the winter restocking of the Community Food Larder<\/p>\n Bettyhill Mod Committee – \u00a3500 for five Mod workshops for the local junior Gaelic choir<\/p>\n To find out more about joining the Edinburgh Sutherland Association, or donating, visit: www.sutherlandassociation.co.uk or email: mail@sutherlandassociation.co.uk<\/p>\n
