Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with an incident which saw two teenagers threatened with a knife and robbed. The incident is reported to have happened on Bold Street<\/a> just after 4.40pm on Saturday, September 13.<\/p>\n Four males approached a 14-year-old boy and girl, claiming they ‘had a knife’ and ‘demanding’ their mobile phones. They took one phone and fled in the direction of Liverpool One<\/a>, police said.<\/p>\n After a description of the suspects was circulated to patrols in the city, three suspects from Kirkby<\/a> were detained near Temple Court and a knife and an axe were seized and recovered<\/a> for forensic examination.<\/p>\n A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery, attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a knife\/blade\/sharp pointed article in a public place.<\/p>\n The 16-year-olds were conditionally bailed and the 14-year-old has been released under investigation.<\/p>\n A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery, attempted robbery and possession of a knife\/blade\/sharp pointed article in a public place. A 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery.<\/p>\n Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: \u201cI hope these arrests show that we will not stand by when we receive reports that people have been threatened on the streets of Merseyside.<\/p>\n \u201cOur officers responded swiftly to this report and detained the suspects very soon after the incident.<\/p>\n \u201cWe understand the concern that such offences can cause, to victims and their families, and I want to assure visitors to the city centre that we continue to have regular patrols in uniform and plain clothes in the city to provide a visible presence.<\/p>\n \u201cAlthough we have made three arrests, any further information or footage you have could be vital to our ongoing investigations into this incident.\u201d<\/p>\n Merseyside Police said policing activity is continuing to take place into September across Merseyside as part of the Safer Streets Summer initiative, with enhanced high-visibility patrols in hotspot areas for serious violence, anti-social behaviour, theft and robbery.<\/p>\n The Safer Streets Summer campaign forms part of the Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee announced by the Government earlier this year.
