Three people have been taken to hospital after emergency services attended the scene of a serious crash in Co Down<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Air Ambulance attended the crash, which happened close to the Ballydugan Road area of Downpatrick.<\/p>\n

A PSNI spokesperson said: \u201cRoad users are advised that the Ballydugan Road in Downpatrick is closed due to a serious road traffic collision. Please seek an alternative route.\u201d<\/p>\n

An NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) spokesperson confirmed three people had been hospitalised following the crash.<\/p>\n

“The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 14:08 on Monday September 15, following reports of an RTC in the Ballydugan Road area of Downpatrick,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

News Catch Up – Monday 15th September <\/p>\n

“NIAS tasked five emergency ambulance crews, one paramedic, one ambulance officer, one Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene.<\/p>\n

“NIAS also tasked the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board to the scene.<\/p>\n

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, three people were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Newry Mourne and Down councillor, Alan Lewis, said his \u201cthoughts are with those involved\u201d. <\/p>\n

“I thank the emergency services for their quick and efficient response, I ask that people avoid the area as it will be closed late into the evening, praying for those injured,\u201d added the DUP councillor. <\/p>\n
