A man from Bristol is due to be sentenced after admitting to stealing phones and tablets from a store in Staple Hill.<\/p>\n

Scott Carroll, of Kingswood<\/a> admitted to burglary and handling stolen goods at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, September 13.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old is due to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on Monday, October 6.<\/p>\n

Carroll was arrested after a large number of mobile phones and tablets were stolen from a shop on Broad Street during the early hours of Sunday, September 7.<\/p>\n

CCTV footage linked him and a vehicle to the scene.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was later located burnt out.<\/p>\n

The owner of the shop had all the stolen items returned and thanked police.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI can\u2019t believe that we have the items back, the police have worked so hard, and we are so happy – it\u2019s our livelihood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Neighbourhood Inspector Barny Mabbett said: “We know the significant effect shop thefts have on our businesses, particularly small ones, and wider communities and we are working hard to identify offenders and bring them before the courts.<\/p>\n

“The swift actions of officers to identify the suspect and make an arrest has led the police to victim getting their property back\u201d.<\/p>\n

A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “A 34-year-old man is due to be sentenced next month after admitting to stealing mobile phones and tablets from a shop in Staple Hill, South Gloucestershire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Scott Carroll, of Kingswood, admitted burglary and handling stolen goods at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (13 September) and will be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on Monday 6 October.<\/p>\n

“He was arrested last week after the theft of a significant number of mobile phones and tablets from a shop in Broad Street which took place in the early hours of Sunday 7 September.<\/p>\n

“It followed a police investigation in which CCTV identified him and a car linked to the incident which was later found burnt out.<\/p>\n
