(Photo: Brad Kaminski)<\/p>\n<p>Updated September 15, 2025 12:31PM<\/p>\n<p>The Fastest Bikes at the Men&#8217;s 2025 Ironman World Championship<\/p>\n<p>The <a target=\"_self\" class=\"text-primary underline hover:text-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.triathlete.com\/culture\/news\/mens-2025-ironman-world-championship-results\/\" rel=\"noopener\">2025 Ironman World Championship in Nice, France<\/a>, once again showcased just how decisive the bike leg can be on this hilly, technical, and breathtaking course. Frenchman Sam Laidlow thrilled the home crowd by setting the day\u2019s fastest bike split in 4:29:29, while three Norwegians \u2014 <a target=\"_self\" class=\"text-primary underline hover:text-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.triathlete.com\/gear\/bike\/gustav-iden-2025-ironman-world-championship-bike\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Gustav Iden<\/a>, <a target=\"_self\" class=\"text-primary underline hover:text-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.triathlete.com\/gear\/bike\/kristian-blummentfelt-2025-ironman-world-championship-bike\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Kristian Blummenfelt<\/a>, and Casper Stornes \u2014 all landed inside the top five bike times.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike Kona\u2019s long, exposed highways, Nice rewards climbing efficiency, confident descending, and all-day aero comfort. That\u2019s reflected in <a target=\"_self\" class=\"text-primary underline hover:text-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.triathlete.com\/tag\/pro-bike-gallery\/\" rel=\"noopener\">the equipment: a mix of 1x and 2x drivetrains, deep wheels paired with discs, and more custom cockpits than ever<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Course and conditions: Nice 2023 vs. 2025<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The <b>Nice course<\/b> remains a contrast to Kona: punchy climbs, switchback descents, and technical handling demand.
