It\u2019s forgive, but perhaps not forget for the royal family, particularly for Queen Camilla<\/a>. As Prince Harry<\/a> and King Charles<\/a> met last week, making a possible full reconciliation between them more than just a dream, reports indicated that Queen Camilla<\/a> was supportive of her husband. But that, apparently, doesn\u2019t mean she\u2019s ready to just let bygones be bygones.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has been extremely unkind to her in print and in word, and she doesn\u2019t forgive easily,\u201d a palace insider\u00a0told the Times of London<\/a> about Prince Harry<\/a>. \u201cThe royal family make elephants look like they have short memories,\u201d the insider added.<\/p>\n

What Harry said about Camilla was reportedly one of the reasons father and son were not getting along. \u201cWhen Harry branded his stepmother Camilla a \u2018villain\u2019 in his book and revealed that both he and William initially begged their father not to marry her, Harry committed what Charles regards as a cardinal sin,\u201d Christopher Andersen, author of\u00a0The King,\u00a0told Fox News Digital<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one disses Camilla in royal circles and gets away with it \u2013 not even a son of the king,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Among other things, Prince Harry<\/a> claimed Queen Camilla leaked stories about other royals to the press in order to boost her own popularity. \u201cI have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal p.r. altar,\u201d he wrote in the book. He also referred to Camilla as the \u201cother woman,\u201d a reference to King Charles<\/a>\u2019 affair with Camilla while he was still married to his mother, Princess Diana, and said meeting her was like getting an \u201cinjection,\u201d writing, \u201cClose your eyes and you won\u2019t even feel it.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Queen Camilla, she was reportedly very upset as well. \u201cWhen the docuseries [Harry & Meghan] came out, Camilla was furious,\u201d a source told Us Weekly<\/a>. \u201cThen, when\u00a0Spare\u00a0[was released], Camilla was saddened by what was said about her. She was heartbroken and confused.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, not everything Harry has said about his stepmother has been negative. In a 2023 interview with\u00a0GMA, he admitted it had been \u201ca long time\u201d\u00a0since he\u2019d spoken to Camilla, but nonetheless seemed to contradict the villain image. \u201cShe\u2019s my stepmother. I don\u2019t look at her as an evil stepmother. I see someone who married into this institution and has done everything that she can to improve her own reputation and her own image, for her own sake,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

And recent reports even indicated that, while Prince William<\/a> was pushing back on the meeting with Harry, Queen Camilla was not. Instead, Rob Shuter\u2019s\u00a0ShuterScoop<\/a>\u00a0reported that Queen Camilla was supportive of the decision, as she \u201cknows how deep the wounds run.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whatever the relationship between Prince Harry and Queen Camilla is now or can one day be, it seems clear that his relationship with his father, King Charles, is now on the mend.
