A new chicken brand has launched exclusively for folk in England’s North West and Northern Ireland. Chick N Dip<\/a> is a sub-brand of the Domino’s pizza company<\/a> focusing more on the side flavours than the cheesy main course.<\/p>\n

Chick N Dip <\/a>launched last week (Monday September 8) in a bid to reel in chicken fanatics with international flavours. The menu is obtainable through Domino’s website and venues and categorised as its own sub section away from pizzas.<\/p>\n

This might sound like an exciting new venture until you think: “Doesn\u2019t Domino\u2019s already sell chicken?” The answer is yes. Domino\u2019s has offered a range of chicken sides, from wings in different flavours to strippers and kickers, for years.<\/p>\n

The new Chick N Dip<\/a> concept adds tenders, wings, and boneless bites to the line-up, which, in reality, are nothing particularly new. They\u2019re essentially the same items you\u2019ll find on the existing menu with minor differences in portion size or production.<\/p>\n

Regardless, I was curious to know whether there was actually something more to these new menu items than the images suggest. For full transparency and to cut this review unusually short, there isn’t. It’s exactly what you’d expect and a little over-enthusiastic to declare this as a sub-brand for the company.<\/p>\n

I ordered the wings, boneless bites and tenders to gain a full picture of everything on offer. The tenders are noticeably larger than their stripper counterparts while the boneless bites and wings are minuscule, and notably different from the advertising visuals.<\/p>\n

Don’t get me wrong, they’re every bit as delicious as their near-identical counterparts, but they’re simply nothing “new” to call home about. Thankfully, the stars of the sub-brand are available to order even if you just fancy a slice of pizza.<\/p>\n

Chick N Dip<\/a> comes with seven saucy new additions capable of rivalling the iconic garlic and herb dip. They include teriyaki, ghost chilli glaze, katsu curry, hot honey, buffalo hot sauce, Mexican mayo and garlic aioli.<\/p>\n

Anyone incapable of finishing a Domino’s pizza without sauce will be thrilled to hear the new arrivals are worth their \u00a31.49 price tag. My favourite of the bunch was the hot honey which was thoroughly dunked with chicken before being smothered on top of my pizza. Sweet and spicy – just how it should be!<\/p>\n

Ghost chilli glaze was a hot contender thanks to its intense heat kick while garlic aioli was a return to form as a smoother version of garlic and herb. The katsu curry was similar to your classic chip shop curry flavours and the teriyaki was sweet, sticky and came with underlying umami flavours.<\/p>\n

The only dip I didn’t particularly care for was the Mexican mayo simply because it underperforms against its rivals. There are better cards on the table to choose from. The final dip, buffalo hot sauce, is a neat little arrival that’s not too fiery to put off milder palates.<\/p>\n

Chick N Dip remains exclusive to the North West for the meantime, and while I wouldn’t suggest waiting next to the countdown clock to try the new menu, long-term customers will no doubt discover a new favourite dip for every order.<\/p>\n

Order from the Chick N Dip section and you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t expect the current chicken options to rival the invention of the wheel.
