Luckily, we\u2019ve discovered a tranquil retreat in the heart of the Second City, <strong>Martineau Gardens<\/strong>, where you can get back to nature.<\/p>\n<p>Tucked away <strong>in Edgbaston<\/strong>, off the busy Priory Road, this therapeutic community garden offers <strong>two and a half acres<\/strong> of serene escape. As one of<strong> Birmingham\u2019s longest-running community gardens<\/strong>, you\u2019ll find a nature haven thriving with flora and fauna\u2014with volunteers managing the site since 1997.<\/p>\n<p> <b>What can I find at Martineau Gardens?<\/b> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18780\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"Plants at Martineau gardens\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/P1042596.jpg\"\/>Credit: Martineau Gardens <\/p>\n<p>Inside, discover a small but mighty world of a <strong>wildlife area, formal gardens, a vegetable plot, an orchard and herb beds<\/strong>. Martineau Gardens\u2019 aim is to inspire its visitors through these environments\u2014with everything from volunteering opportunities to educational activities.<\/p>\n<p>Just one stroll will be enough to inspire activists and artists alike. Discover the <strong>orchard growing figs, mulberries, grapes and apples<\/strong>; a<strong> woodland home to Pipistrelle bats, badgers and birds<\/strong>; and a <strong>children\u2019s \u2018shipwreck\u2019 play area<\/strong> for <a href=\"https:\/\/secretbirmingham.com\/things-to-do-with-kids-birmingham\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretbirmingham.com\/things-to-do-with-kids-birmingham\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_1\" data-category=\"click_internal\">little ones<\/a> to enjoy.
