Reigning Eclipse Champion Turf Male Rebel\u2019s Romance has been nominated to the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes at Belmont at the Big A on Sept. 27.<\/p>\n
The 7-year-old Dubawi gelding could be joined by his stablemate El Cordobes, the winner of the G1 Sword Dancer at Saratoga on Aug. 9. The 1 \u00bd-mile race would serve both as a prep for the Breeders\u2019 Cup Turf, which Rebel\u2019s Romance won in 2022 and 2024.<\/p>\n
Rebel\u2019s Romance has won four of six races this year, including the G1 Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten in Germany last out on Aug. 10.<\/p>\n
Trainer Charlie Appleby told Michael Adolphson that he plans to send both Godolphin runners to New York for the race.<\/p>\n
