{"id":429730,"date":"2025-09-16T21:15:26","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T21:15:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/429730\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T21:15:26","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T21:15:26","slug":"ps5s-new-power-saver-feature-confirms-its-first-supported-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/429730\/","title":{"rendered":"PS5&#8217;s New Power Saver Feature Confirms Its First Supported Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"scanlines\" title=\"PS5&#039;s New Power Saver Feature Confirms Its First Supported Games 1\" href=\"https:\/\/images.pushsquare.com\/cbe4b39445a92\/ps5s-new-power-saver-feature-confirms-its-first-supported-games-1.large.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/ps5s-new-power-saver-feature-confirms-its-first-supported-games-1.900x.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" alt=\"PS5's New Power Saver Feature Confirms Its First Supported Games 1\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You may recall <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/news\/2025\/07\/new-ps5-beta-firmware-update-out-24th-july-includes-teased-controller-feature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PS5\u2019s new Power Saver feature<\/a>, announced as a new option for Sony\u2019s console.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019ll be included as a system toggle in a new firmware update, due out this week, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/news\/2025\/09\/ps5-firmware-update-out-tomorrow-brings-power-saver-mode-dualsense-controller-pairing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported earlier today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But now we have confirmation of the first three games which will support it: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps5\/demons_souls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Demon\u2019s Souls<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps5\/ghost_of_yotei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ghost of Yotei<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps5\/death_stranding_2_on_the_beach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Death Stranding 2: On the Beach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All three titles will be getting patches in the future to enable the feature, and you\u2019ll obviously need to enable the Power Saving mode in your system settings as well.<\/p>\n<p>You can do that by following these three steps, once you\u2019ve installed the update:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>System<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Power Saving<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Power Saver for Games<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Turn on <strong>Use Power Saver<\/strong> and select which games you want to play using power saver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear exactly how Power Saver will impact your experience in these games, but Sony says it\u2019ll \u201cscale back performance [\u2026] to reduce power consumption\u201d. We\u2019d expect lower framerates and resolutions, a bit like when you put your phone in Battery Saver mode.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s interesting about all this is, despite the platform holder billing the Power Saver as some form of net-zero initiative, some hypothesise this could formulate part of the plan for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/news\/2025\/07\/ps6-handheld-becomes-more-legit-with-new-ps5-power-save-mode\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PlayStation\u2019s rumoured handheld<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been talk for quite some time of Sony adding a \u201creduced bandwidth\u201d mode to the PS5 which would allow it to run games on a lower specification piece of hardware. And the Power Saver is doing essentially that.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll certainly be interested to see how this trio of supported titles perform with the mode enabled, as it could give us a rough indication of what to expect from Sony\u2019s purported portable.<\/p>\n<p>Will you be testing the Power Save feature out?
