Garner has set his sights on a place in the England squad after an impressive start to the campaign which saw him blasting home a brilliant effort from distance in the\u00a02-0 win over Brighton in August<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has played every minute of Everton\u2019s four Premier League fixtures to date, with the Blues positioned in the Top 6 after a solid start.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old has shown his versatility by deputising at left-back amid injury issues, in addition to his preferred midfield role. So far this season, only Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell has won more tackles than the Everton man.<\/p>\n

Moyes mentioned Garner as an option for England earlier this month, and it\u2019s an ambition the midfielder is unafraid to discuss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Having won 18 caps for the England U21 side and earned inclusion in the Team of the Tournament as the Young Lions won the European Championship in 2023, Garner believes he\u2019s capable of stepping up to the senior squad.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a good start to the season, but I\u2019m focused on keeping it going for a full season,\u201d he said in the matchday programme ahead of the draw with Aston Villa at the weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I say, the past few seasons have been up and down for me. I want to stay fit, first and foremost, and I want to play as much as I can, have a good season for the club and hopefully get recognised by England at some point, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to get into that England team \u2013 that\u2019s my long-term goal. I know it\u2019s not going to happen overnight, but I definitely feel like I\u2019ve got the quality, so it\u2019s just about keeping consistent and improving with every game. I\u2019m hopeful it\u2019ll come.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Im pleased Garner is getting some recognition. He had a positive impact last year when returning from injury. This year he’s shown flexibility and willingness to sacrifice himself for the good of the team. I think he’s a tidy player with a football brain. Having better players to link up with hopefully will let us see how good he really. <\/p>\n

\n It’s a nice confidence boost from Moyes to mention Garner for England, hopefully he’ll be a regular in our midfield now, and not left back, and give him a new contract now. <\/p>\n

\n Garner is a quality player with top class attitude and application too.
Only 24 too.
A superb future for him and us is unfolding at resurgent Everton on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey. <\/p>\n
