Paige DeSorbo had an \u201coverwhelming sense that [she] couldn\u2019t go back\u201d to \u201cSummer House,\u201d she told Byrdie <\/a>in a new cover story.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I would\u2019ve been doing a disservice to [the show]. They expect a certain level of showing up, and I couldn\u2019t give them that,\u201d she explained in her joint interview with fellow \u201cSummer House\u201d alum Hannah Berner, who left the show in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

DeSorbo, 32, also reflected on her final season with the Bravo series during the chat. At the time of filming, cameras followed the emotional end of her relationship<\/a> with ex-boyfriend Craig Conover, which DeSorbo admitted was a hard storyline<\/a> for her to share.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing on reality TV, there\u2019s a level \u2014 this is a harsh word \u2014 of, like, brainwashing. That\u2019s not real life,\u201d she admitted. \u201cYou\u2019re not stopping people on the street and being like, \u2018I just had a thought that I hate my boyfriend.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Despite DeSorbo\u2019s gut feeling that her time on reality TV was over, leaving the show was not an easy decision for her as she feared that her \u201ccareer would be over.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s an element of thinking you need that show and network, and Hannah was reminding me they\u2019re not in charge of where you are in your career,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had people [from\u00a0\u2018Summer House\u2019] verbatim say to us, \u2018We don\u2019t want to focus on your friendship this season,’\u201d DeSorbo shared. \u201cThat was why we started\u00a0\u2018Giggly Squad,\u2019 because we were like, \u2018We have more things to say, and no one is listening to us.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Berner, 34, added, \u201cI think we say more on the pod because we know how it\u2019s going to be put out. Whereas when you\u2019re on TV, you can say something personal, but you don\u2019t know how it\u2019s going to be framed and in what context.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also noted how \u201cgrateful\u201d she was for the memories and thanked her \u201ccastmates, fans and [her] NBCU family\u201d for all the support.<\/p>\n

DeSorbo, who joined \u201cSummer House\u201d in Season 3, announced back in June that she would not be returning. Sasha Israel\/Bravo<\/p>\n

She shared how \u201cgrateful\u201d she was for for the memories and thanked her \u201ccastmates, fans and [her] NBCU family.\u201d Eugene Gologursky\/Bravo<\/p>\n

\u201cI never could\u2019ve imagined what this journey would turn into \u2014 and how many of you would be along for the ride. And you haven\u2019t seen the last of me, I promise. So much more to do together, but for now you know you can always find me and Daphne in my bed,\u201d she concluded, referencing her cat.<\/p>\n

The Daphne loungewear founder made her reality TV debut during Season 3, along with Berner. The comedian left after two seasons due to various fallouts<\/a> with several other cast members. Meanwhile, DeSorbo became a fan favorite and grew extremely close to her fellow castmates<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She began dating Conover<\/a>, 36, in 2021 after filming Season 1 of \u201cWinter House\u201d together. The beloved Bravo couple split in December 2024, however, after being plagued with breakup rumors for months.<\/p>\n

\u201cCraig and I have decided to no longer be together,\u201d DeSorbo\u00a0announced via her \u201cGiggly Squad\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cI love him. I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn\u2019t a bad thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn\u2019t want,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think that\u2019s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you\u2019re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.\u201d<\/p>\n
