Callum Highway<\/a> (Tony Clay<\/a>) has made his feelings abundantly clear in EastEnders<\/a>, telling Johnny Carter<\/a> (Charlie Suff<\/a>) that he wants to go public with their romance. <\/p>\n The detective, as viewers know, struggled to resist temptation earlier this year when sparks flew between he and Johnny<\/a>, with one thing leading to another.<\/p>\n After spending the night at the Vic with his new beau, Callum felt guilty that he was betraying husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden)<\/a>, who is currently serving a stretch in prison<\/a> for fraud-related charges.<\/p>\n Phil Mitchell<\/a> (Steve McFadden<\/a>) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) weren\u2019t too pleased when they uncovered the pair\u2019s passion, with the former resorting to violence<\/a> while the latter urged Callum against playing with fire in Ben\u2019s absence. <\/p>\n Callum, however, has struggled to stay from Johnny (and vice versa)<\/a>, especially since estranged dad Jonno returned to the Square<\/a>. <\/p>\n Jonno proved himself as troublesome as ever, getting into bother with the law over homophobic comments made outside The Albert. <\/p>\n \t\t Johnny suggested Callum meet with Jonno to see if he\u2019d turned over a new leaf but things soon became heated, with Jonno suffering a heart attack as he lashed out<\/a>. <\/p>\n As Callum went to get help, Jonno died \u2013 but not before telling Johnny to tell his son that he\u2019s \u2018ashamed\u2019 of him. <\/p>\n Apalled at Jonno\u2019s hateful words right at the very end, Johnny lied to Callum about what his father\u2019s final utterance was, instead telling him that Jonno had simply asked for forgiveness. <\/p>\n Sorry, this video isn’t available any more.<\/strong><\/p>\n Overwhelmed and grateful for the support, Callum wasted little time in kissing Johnny. \u2018This is me realising what I want \u2013 what I need\u2018, he told his lover, \u2018and it\u2019s right here in front of me\u2019. <\/p>\n Callum reiterated such a thing during Monday\u2019s offering of the BBC One soap and on Tuesday, he prepared something to say at his dad\u2019s funeral \u2013 with some help from Johnny. <\/p>\n \t\t \t\t\t\tFollow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first!\t\t\t<\/p>\n Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? However, the solicitor felt they should proceed with caution and hold off on making things official until after Jonno\u2019s send-off. <\/p>\n As Callum agreed and returned to his writing, a look of sadness washed over Johnny\u2019s face. Despite his good intentions when lying about what Jonno\u2019s final words were, it\u2019s clear that the weight of such a thing is starting to weigh heavy on him. <\/p>\n \t\t The question is: will the truth come out? And if so, will Cal see that Johnny was trying to spare him any further grief? Or will it instead spell the end of their romance before it really has the chance to get off the ground? <\/p>\n This is Walford we\u2019re talking about, so the latter is the likeliest option!
