A vehicle has crashed<\/a> into a railway bridge, causing disruption to services between Glasgow and Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

The incident took place in Glasgow<\/a> this morning.<\/p>\n

The line in question was reopened after the bridge in Carntyne was examined by Network Rail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

ScotRail confirmed that some services to Edinburgh<\/a> from Glasgow Queen Street faced disruption due to the issue.<\/p>\n

Glasgow Live<\/a> reports Scotrail posted on X about the issue.<\/p>\n

The transport firm<\/a> said: “We’ve had reports of a vehicle striking a bridge at Carntyne.<\/p>\n

“The bridge is a structure that requires to be examined by Network Rail before services can pass over the bridge again.<\/p>\n

“Both lines are currently closed. Please use our app for service updates.”<\/p>\n

In an update, Scotrail<\/a> said: “Following a road vehicle colliding with a bridge earlier today at Carntyne all lines have now reopened.<\/p>\n

“We can now run services as scheduled.<\/p>\n

“However, disruption to services will be ongoing until our staff and trains are back in position.”<\/p>\n

ScotRail, Police Scotland<\/a> and Network Rail were approached for comment.<\/p>\n
