The Duke of Sussex\u2019s relations with the British royals soured since he made a series of allegations about them after stepping down from his public role, along with his wife, Meghan Markle<\/a>, in 2020. The couple left England and settled in the United States following the exit. In 2022, though, Harry returned to his homeland for his grandmother\u2019s funeral. The duke may have been expecting a warm welcome, but he was allegedly met with cold treatment.<\/p>\n

A royal author has claimed that Prince Harry\u2019s family didn\u2019t trust him when he returned to the United Kingdom for Queen Elizabeth\u2019s funeral in 2022. The Duke of Sussex was reportedly expecting to be welcomed back into The Firm when he arrived at Balmoral. However, according to the latest claims, the treatment left him disheartened. RadarOnline<\/a> reports that former royal butler\u00a0Paul Burrell recalled the same in his new memoir,\u00a0\u201cThe Royal Insider.\u201d<\/p>\n

The author claimed that Harry encountered \u201ca total glacial front\u201d after the former queen passed away. Burrell said that the duke \u201ccame through the doors as though he was expecting to be embraced.\u201d However, Balmoral was allegedly like an \u201ciceberg.\u201d Burrell explained that Harry was no longer a working royal. The author also added that he was \u201cnot trusted by the family.\u201d The cold treatment amid the estrangement reportedly left Harry \u201csadly disappointed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burrell further alleged that Harry was mostly left out during the trip to attend his grandmother\u2019s funeral. The royal author recalled that the duke was excluded from Prince William, Prince Edward, and\u00a0Prince Andrew\u2019s travel plans to Scotland on the night of the\u00a0former queen\u2019s death. According to a royal commentator, Harry \u201cmade himself the enemy\u201d of the monarchy when he made accusations against the family.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, this is why the father of two was met with an icy atmosphere. Burrell also claimed that the family members were \u201call too busy to think about Harry\u2019s pain.\u201d The author said, \u201cThere was no one there for him.\u201d He continued that nobody was there to \u201cembrace him or understand how he was feeling.\u201d Meanwhile, despite years of estrangement, things may finally turn around for Harry after his recent long-awaited reunion<\/a> with his father, King Charles.<\/p>\n
