A new study has revealed Europe’s cheapest city for public transport –\u00a0and you can even get single tickets there for 70 cents.<\/p>\n

Vilnius has the cheapest public transport in Europe.<\/p>\n

Taking an average from all transport types, a single ticket costs just 70 cents (60p) in the Lithuanian capital.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Istanbul, Turkey, and Krakow, Poland<\/a> came joint second for cheapest transport – with an average single ticket costing 90 cents (80p).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Lisbon has come out as the least expensive city to get around in terms of day passes.<\/p>\n

In the Portuguese capital, you can purchase the most affordable 24-hour tickets, costing an average of \u20ac2 (\u00a31.75).<\/p>\n

It is closely followed by Krakow in Poland, where 24-hour tickets cost an average of\u00a0\u20ac2.80, and Nice, France, where they are \u20ac3.40 (\u00a33).<\/p>\n

Research from\u00a0Radical Storage<\/a>\u00a0has uncovered the most and least expensive public transport in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new study analysed the price of bus, tram, metro, and train tickets in 50 of the most populated European cities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The study considered both the cost of single tickets and 24-hour tickets.<\/p>\n

To work out which cities have the most expensive public transport systems, it considered the price of a single ticket for one adult.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Where specific zones were necessary to specify in order to gain a ticket price, they analysed the zones covering the smallest central zone available in the city (for example, Zone 1 in London, or AB in Berlin).<\/p>\n

The study considered the prices of travelling via bus, metro, train, and tram.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In some cities, not all transport types were available, so an average was taken from the prices that were available.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Aarhus in Denmark has the most expensive public transport in Europe.<\/p>\n

Destinations such as Lisbon, Nice and Krakow might hit the mark in this case.<\/p>\n
