Police investigating a non-recent report of child sexual abuse in Leeds have arrested a man.<\/p>\n
The 60-year-old man was arrested from an address in the Beeston area of Leeds. He is currently in custody.<\/p>\n
The arrest relates to an investigation into offences against a female victim which are reported to have occurred in Leeds between 2005 and 2007.<\/p>\n
Detective Superintendent Sarah Lambert, of Leeds District, said:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe are committed to working alongside local authorities and other organisations to support victims of child sexual abuse, bring offenders to justice and make our communities safer.<\/p>\n
\u201cProtecting children and putting victims at the heart of our investigations is an absolute focus for West Yorkshire Police. We are experienced at investigating both current and non-recent offences and support the national \u2018When you are ready\u2019 campaign which encourage victims and survivors of child sexual abuse to tell a friend, contact a support organisation and feel empowered to take that step, whenever they\u2019re ready to do so.<\/p>\n
