But EU governments have yet to nail down what those could look like \u2014\u00a0and the extent of U.S. involvement.<\/p>\n<p>Zelenskyy said the best security guarantee is a \u201cstrong\u201d Ukrainian army, backed by allies\u2019 funding contributions, and thanked Metsola for the Parliament\u2019s staunch support for Ukraine\u2019s EU accession. <\/p>\n<p>Ukraine\u2019s EU membership bid received an initial green light from EU leaders in 2023.
