Manchester United and Liverpool share one of the fiercest rivalries in English football.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two giants have had numerous battles over the years, and after years of United\u2019s dominance in the Premier League<\/a> era, Liverpool are the better side now. <\/p>\n

The Reds are on the verge of winning the title this season, while Manchester United are 13 places and 41 points behind them.<\/p>\n

That shows the difference in level between the two sides, but as good as Liverpool\u2019s players are now, Micah Richards believes one of United\u2019s old boys was better than Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Gary Neville\u2019s<\/a> job as a pundit has made many people forget how good a player he was for Manchester United back in the day. <\/p>\n

The Englishman spent his entire career at Old Trafford, having come through the academy. <\/p>\n

Neville was a no-nonsense old-school full-back who did his job brilliantly. Sir Alex Ferguson<\/a> wouldn\u2019t have kept him for as long as he did if he weren\u2019t good enough. <\/p>\n

Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold is a different kind of right-back. He is a joy to watch when he has the ball at his feet, and some of the goals and assists he has pulled off have been marvellous. <\/p>\n

But, who is the better full-back out of the two English defenders?<\/p>\n

Micah Richards<\/a>, who was a full-back himself back in the day, picked the Manchester United legend, even though he feels Alexander-Arnold is technically superior.<\/p>\n

He said in a video on BBC Match of the Day: \u201cTrent is better technically, but G-Nev has won so many Premier Leagues. <\/p>\n

\u201cI know Trent has won a Champions League<\/a> and a Premier League, but I have to say G-Nev.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Neville and Alexander-Arnold are two very, very different players.<\/p>\n

The Manchester United<\/a> man played for the most successful team in Premier League history and was a key part, while Alexander-Arnold helped Liverpool become one of the best teams in the country again. <\/p>\n

Richards probably looked up to Neville when he was growing up, and that\u2019s perhaps why he has chosen the Manchester United legend over the Liverpool<\/a> number 66.<\/p>\n

But, when Alexander-Arnold hangs his boots up, there is every chance he would\u2019ve eclipsed the number of trophies Neville won, especially if he joins Real Madrid. <\/p>\n
