Earlier this month, we talked about Valve registering a new trademark called \u201cSteam Frame\u201d<\/a>. No one knew for sure what it was for. Two separate filings were made on September 2nd. Some thought it might be tied to a new SteamOS console, maybe even the Steam Deck 2<\/a>, while others pointed to rumors about the long-rumored \u201cDeckard\u201d VR headset and even a possible Steam Controller 2<\/a>, codenamed Ibex. Right now, signs are pointing strongly toward it being connected to VR.<\/p>\n

The biggest clue is the sudden movement of VR influencers to Seattle, where Valve’s headquarters is located. Several well-known names in the VR scene have been spotted in the city. For example, Nathie, a popular VR content creator, confirmed that he is currently in Seattle, only 20 minutes from Valve HQ.<\/p>\n

For those who don’t know, Nathie has a history with surprise reveals. He livestreamed Facebook’s F8 conference in 2019 when Valve unexpectedly announced the Index VR headset. His presence in Seattle this week has fans thinking of another big launch.\u00a0Especially with GIF replies featuring the likes of TF2\u2019s Heavy.<\/p>\n

To clear up the post above for the uninitiated, Meta\u2019s Connect event is happening at its headquarters in California, not in Seattle. So something fishy is happening right now \u2013 all points towards Valve announcing a new VR headset<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other VR creators are also hinting at something big. Habie147, who won VR Content Creator of the Year in 2022, usually sticks to a strict schedule for his Twitch streams and YouTube uploads. But this week, he did something different as he canceled his Tuesday stream and instead announced a \u201cspecial report\u201d video going live on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Cas and Chary, another popular duo in the VR community, have said they will skip Meta Connect this year (it takes place on September 17-18), and when nudged about the Steam Frame reveal, they dropped a hint<\/a> instead of a straight answer. Based on everything happening right now, many believe Valve is preparing to reveal its new VR headset.
