On his 11,000 km journey he carried with him 20kg of gear wanting to produce a body of photos which would “get under the surface of the island nation”. He will narrate the challenges and show the photos which he captured.

Quintin commented: “My talk features hundreds of my favourite photos and video clips – moments that made me laugh, gasp, or marvel – captured during the 454 days I spent walking the coastline of Britain, including 194 unforgettable days in Scotland. In many ways, The Perimeter is a love letter to Scotland, so I’m thrilled to return to Alba to share my favourite photos with those that know it best. I hope my talk serves as a reminder of the extraordinary adventures and breathtaking sights waiting just beyond our front doors.

“I battled a stress fracture, a torn tendon, hypothermia, and countless blisters. I was once trapped below a cliff as the tide rose – but I never felt like giving up. The thrilling sense of discovery, the pull of what might lie beyond the next headland, kept me going every step of the way.”

RSGS Chief Executive Mike Robinson commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Quintin to the programme. His journey is one of endurance and connection, and there is no doubt that audiences will be captivated by his images and stories. His talks will set the tone for a remarkable talks season that will run into 2026, featuring an exciting mix of adventurers, photographers, academics, authors and many more.”

RSGS Inspiring People talks are open to all: tickets are free for RSGS Members, Students and U18s and £15 for general admission.
