Culpo Wins Pageant After Answering Question About Transgender Pageant Contestants<\/strong><\/p>\nIn 2012, Culpo was a finalist in the Miss USA pageant, when she was asked the following question \u2014 and provided the following answer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWould you feel it would be fair that a transgender woman wins the Miss USA title over a natural-born woman?\u201d asked celebrity judge Robert Kardashian.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do think that would be fair\u2026but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural born women, but today there are so many surgeries and so many people who have a need to change for a happier life,\u201d said Culpo.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do accept that, because I believe it\u2019s a free country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump Endorsed Culpo’s Stance<\/strong><\/p>\n\u201cShe gave a great answer, a very tough question \u2013 on transgender \u2013 just the question everybody wants to hear, and she gave a great answer and she really did a great job,\u201d Trump said praising Culpo on \u201cFox and Friends\u201d in June 2012.<\/p>\n
Culpo went on to win Miss Universe.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
