Man United have been backed to emulate Sheffield United\u2019s recent re-appointment of Chris Wilder by sacking Ruben Amorim and bringing back an old head-coach to take over.<\/strong><\/p>\n Man United lost 3-0 to arch-rivals Man City<\/a> on Sunday (14 September) to further deepen their current woes under Ruben Amorim.<\/p>\n The Old Trafford outfit were easily beaten by their noisy neighbours at the Etihad Stadium in another tough loss for Amorim\u2019s men, with just four points now taken from their first four Premier League games of the new season.<\/p>\n Their poor league form added to an embarrassing Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town has led many fans and neutrals alike to ask questions of the Portuguese head-coach\u2019s position in charge of the club.<\/p>\n Former Red Devils scout Mick Brown has told Football Insider<\/strong> that Man United chiefs are losing patience with Amorim<\/a>, and they have now been urged to copy Championship side Sheffield United<\/a>\u2018s recent move by re-hiring an ex-head-coach who had a better record in charge than Amorim\u2019s.<\/p>\n Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a> was a hero at Man United<\/a> as a player and he returned to the club as caretaker manager in December 2018 before being handed the permanent job in charge in March 2019, as he led them to sixth, third and second-placed Premier League finishes and the 2021 Europa League final.<\/p>\n He was sacked in November 2021 with the Red Devils sat seventh in the top-flight, and the club are yet to finish above third in the league since his departure.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Former player and current pundit Jamie O\u2019Hara urged the club to sack Amorim and replace him with Solskjaer amid their current woes, while speaking live on talkSPORT<\/a> on Monday (15 September, 10:12pm), emulating Sheffield United\u2019s recent re-appointment of club legend Chris Wilder for the third time as boss.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cThis is the worst Man United team I\u2019ve seen. Honestly. I can\u2019t believe Ruben Amorim is still in charge, honestly when are they going to let it go? When are they going to just\u2026do what Sheffield United have done, just swallow their pride [and say] \u2018we got this wrong?’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cGet Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] back\u2026get Ole back in. They can\u2019t carry on doing this. They\u2019ll go down.
