Paul Mescal was spotted outside a Liverpool restaurant on Wednesday evening. The Gladiator actor, who was dining at the popular Bold Street restaurant Maray, was joined by fellow actors Harris Dickinson and Barry Keoghan.<\/p>\n

The actors are part of the high-profile cast of the upcoming Beatles biopic series<\/a>, directed by Oscar-winner Sir Sam Mendes. Whether the dinner was part of early preparations or simply a chance to get to know each other better, their presence in the city has certainly sparked excitement among fans.<\/p>\n

The ECHO<\/a> spoke to Paul Mescal<\/a>, who is set to play Sir Paul McCartney in the ambitious four-part film project. The Irish actor spoke warmly about his return to the city.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old said: “I\u2019ve been here a few times before, and we\u2019re having the best time here, yeah it\u2019s great.”<\/p>\n

However, when pressed about the nature of the evening meeting with his co-stars, Mescal remained tight-lipped. He said: \u201cI\u2019m not allowed to say why but we\u2019re having a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The upcoming film series, backed by Sony Pictures, will offer a unique twist: four separate movies, each told from the perspective of one of the Beatles. All are scheduled for release in April 2028.<\/p>\n

Joining Mescal in the Fab Four lineup is fellow Irish actor Barry Keogha<\/a>n as Ringo Starr, British rising star Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Gladiator II\u2019s Joseph Quinn taking on the role of George Harrison.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas earlier this year, Sir Sam called the films the \u201cfirst binge-able theatrical experience\u201d. He added that he has been “trying to make a story about The Beatles for years.”<\/p>\n

The new and exciting project marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd and The Beatles \u2013 Sir Paul, Sir Ringo, and the families of Lennon and Harrison \u2013 have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.<\/p>\n

Sir Ringo has previously spoken about the biopic, on Entertainment Tonight he said: “I believe he\u2019s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many”, letting slip that Saltburn star Keoghan had taken on the role.<\/p>\n

Previous films about the Beatles include Nowhere Boy, about Lennon growing up in Liverpool, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The Beatles themselves also starred in a number of movies during the incredible careers.<\/p>\n

Maray staff declined to comment when approached by the ECHO.<\/a><\/p>\n
