The Arizona State Sun Devils have neared an agreement to face the Kansas Jayhawks for an American-style football game in London\u2019s Wembley Stadium next season, according to The Post and Courier\u2019s Scott Hamilton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It would be the first FBS college football game played in London.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in conversations about international games,\u201d ASU athletic director Graham Rossini told Burns & Gambo in August. \u201cThat\u2019s something that the Big 12 is very focused on. We\u2019re very interested in that as well. Very early days on the process, but we like the idea of playing in Europe, somewhere where it makes sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000 and has been a frequent host of NFL games.<\/p>\n

The game would happen on Sept. 19<\/a>, added On3\u2019s Brett McMurphy. ESPN\u2019s Pete Thamel<\/a> reported that it requires the Jayhawks to move a previously scheduled game against Middle Tennessee, among other line items.<\/p>\n

The Big 12 opener for both squads would follow the conference\u2019s Week 0 game between Iowa State and Kansas State in Dublin, Ireland, this season.<\/p>\n

Hamilton reports that season-ticket holders could see presale tickets become available in the coming weeks, and the game will be part of a series of Big 12 games overseas called the Union Jack Classic.<\/p>\n
