A Sheffield man has been ordered to hand over around \u00a365,000 in ill gotten gains, after being jailed for his involvement in the sale of Class A drugs.<\/p>\n
26 year old Almuez Hamid, formerly of Lowedges Crescent, was jailed for 42 months in November for drugs offences and possession on criminal property.<\/p>\n
An investigation by South Yorkshire Police’s Asset Recovery Team has now found he made around \u00a3110,000 through criminal activity – he has now been handed a confiscation order in an attempt to record some of the cash.<\/p>\n
Laura Hough, Head of Asset Recovery at South Yorkshire Police, said:<\/p>\n
“Money gathered from confiscation orders is paid back into the justice system. It helps positively impact communities previously blighted by criminals. <\/p>\n
“Information submitted by you, our local communities, is essential in securing confiscation orders. Intelligence from the public allows us to construct a better a understanding of how much convicted criminals have benefitted from their life of criminality. <\/p>\n
