Liverpool are working hard behind the scenes to address one major issue following the summer transfer window.<\/strong><\/p>\n Arne Slot\u2019s side have had the perfect start to the season, winning four out of four in the Premier League, as well as beating Atletico Madrid in their Champions League opener<\/a>.<\/p>\n Despite their impressive run of results, Liverpool<\/a> have been questioned for their performance levels so far this term.<\/p>\n They have left it late in all five of their matches so far, going into the last 10 minutes of each game with the scores level, before somehow coming up with the goods.<\/p>\n Everton\u2019s former chief Keith Wyness<\/a> \u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 believes that the Reds have one big issue that they are working hard to fix.<\/p>\n Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider<\/strong>\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness insisted that Liverpool\u2019s Achilles heel is their defence, and they are looking at ways to fix their backline.<\/p>\n Slot\u2019s<\/a> side have conceded six goals in their first five games, and have often been exposed when up against threatening attacks.<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Wyness added that the fact Liverpool failed to sign Marc Guehi<\/a> meant they missed out on the obvious answer to their problems.<\/p>\n He told Football Insider<\/strong>\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cLiverpool\u2019s Achilles heel seems to be at the back. They had a pretty lucky result at Burnley at the weekend with an injury-time penalty that perhaps should have been retaken, as well as their last-minute winner against Atletico Madrid.<\/p>\n \u201cBut nevertheless, it does seem the defence is their Achilles heel and they\u2019ve got to have somebody in place, and I\u2019m sure that the Liverpool team behind the scenes will be looking very hard at how they\u2019re going to fix that situation. <\/p>\n \u201cMarc Guehi was the obvious answer, but that didn\u2019t quite happen, and I\u2019m sure they put a lot of eggs in that basket.
