People over the age of 66 are set to receive certain financial boosts later this year, with three additional payments from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP<\/a>). Payments will total \u00a3460 for eligible pensioners.<\/p>\n The three payments<\/a> include the Winter Fuel Payment, the Warm Home Discount, and the Christmas<\/a> Bonus – all of which will be automatically paid, meaning pensioners<\/a> will not need to apply.<\/p>\n Around 12 million pensioners are expected to receive the Winter Fuel Payment, which is worth \u00a3200 per household or \u00a3300 where at least one person is aged over 80, the Express reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n Those with higher incomes above \u00a335,000 will still receive the payment, but it will later be recovered by HMRC through either PAYE or self-assessment.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Another key element of the financial help is the Warm Home Discount – a one-off credit of \u00a3150 applied directly to electricity accounts between October and March.<\/p>\n The scheme, funded by energy suppliers, provides a vital reduction in bills for those on certain benefits.
