Harry Hamlin recalled his wife, Lisa Rinna, threatening to kill him while battling postpartum depression.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had horrible postpartum depression, but I didn\u2019t know it,\u201d Rinna, 61, shared during Friday\u2019s episode of the couple\u2019s \u201cLet\u2019s Not Talk About the Husband\u201d\u00a0podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know what it was. When you have your first baby, you don\u2019t know. You just don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rinna said she felt \u201cabsolutely hopeless\u201d as she struggled with PPD for 15 months after her and her husband\u2019s eldest daughter, Delilah Hamlin, 26, was born in June 1998.<\/p>\n

The \u201cReal Housewives of Beverly Hills\u201d alum described the feeling as having \u201ca huge dark cloud\u201d over her at all times.<\/p>\n

The depression returned with a vengeance after she welcomed their youngest daughter, Amelia Hamlin, 23, in June 2001.<\/p>\n

The \u201cRHOBH\u201d alum described the feeling as having \u201ca huge dark cloud\u201d over her at all times. FilmMagic<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Harry, 73, really became worried.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou said, \u2018I\u2019m gonna kill you,’\u201d the actor revealed. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018You better call [your OB-GYN] right now.\u2019 You said, \u2018You better watch out. I feel like killing you.\u2019 You said, \u2018Keep the knives in the drawer.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Rinna didn\u2019t exactly remember threatening Harry\u2019s life, his story did line up with her experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was having horrible hallucinations of killing people, and I needed to take the knives out of the house,\u201d she admitted. \u201cAnd I also had horrible visions of driving the car into a brick wall.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Office on Women\u2019s Health<\/a>, women who struggle with PPD often experience feelings of sadness, hopelessness, anger or volatility. In extreme cases, new moms may experience hallucinations or intrusive thoughts about harming their baby, themselves or others.<\/p>\n

Though Rinna\u2019s PPD the second time around was extreme, she made sure to note that she never experienced any negative feelings toward either of her daughters.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not have horrible visions about hurting the baby in any way, shape or form. It wasn\u2019t about that,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt was about hopelessness, darkest depression and these horrible visions, hallucinations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLooking back, I was completely psychotic,\u201d she confessed. Getty Images<\/p>\n

The former soap opera star kept thinking about \u201cthe knives\u201d and \u201cdriving the car into a brick wall,\u201d confessing, \u201cLooking back, I was completely psychotic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rinna was eventually prescribed antidepressants, which \u201cworked instantly\u201d and \u201cchanged the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

She urged new moms who are suffering, especially those suffering in silence, to ask for help.<\/p>\n
