The Met Office has issued a yellow rain weather warning, updating its previous alert to now cover seven different areas of the UK.<\/p>\n
“Heavy rainfall” is expected this weekend (September 20 and 21) from 9am on Saturday until 6am on Sunday in numerous areas including parts of the West Midlands.<\/p>\n
Weather experts have already declared there may be a “small chance” this rainfall causes “some transport disruption and flooding,” but guidance on what to expect has also identified numerous other possibilities.<\/p>\n
READ MORE: UK households face \u00a3300 fines over ‘autumn family tradition’<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n According to the Met Office, there is a “slight chance” of power cuts and “loss of services” to some homes and business.<\/p>\n It also states flooding could be a risk of damage to buildings, which could in turn cause difficult driving conditions, some road closures and a “slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.”<\/p>\n The Met Office added: “There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.”<\/p>\n Further detail on the impending rainfall stated: “A band of rain, heavy at times, across Wales, northern England and southern Scotland is expected to remain slow-moving during Saturday morning before making erratic eastward progress, eventually clearing early on Sunday.<\/p>\n “Whilst there is still some uncertainty in the focus for the heaviest rainfall, 20-30 mm of rain is likely to fall quite widely and there is a chance that 60-80 mm of rain could fall in places.<\/p>\n “These higher accumulations may not be confined to high ground only. Due to this uncertainty, further changes to the warning area are possible.”As the area of rain clears east, a spell of strong northwesterly winds may develop later Saturday and Sunday morning, most likely towards North Sea coasts.”<\/p>\n The weather specialists also shared the best response UK households should take during heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n It continued: “Check if your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.<\/p>\n
