To support this and meet our promise to offer<br \/>\nalways-on, safe, secure, and worry-free financial products and services, we<br \/>\nwill be conducting a scheduled system upgrade,\u201d the statement read in part.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">According to Safaricom, the upgrade is the most significant since 2015, and it introduces Fintech 2.0, a next-generation<br \/>\ncore platform designed to strengthen resilience, expand capacity, and unlock<br \/>\nadvanced, AI-driven innovation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height:150%\">\u201cThis upgrade is a bold<br \/>\ninvestment in the future of M-PESA and reaffirmation of our commitment to<br \/>\ninnovation, resilience and customer trust. By moving to Fintech 2.0, we are<br \/>\nunlocking a platform that not only scales to meet today\u2019s demands but also<br \/>\nanticipates tomorrow\u2019s opportunities,\u201d said Safaricom CEO Dr Peter Ndegwa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height:150%\">The new M-PESA Core<br \/>\nwill expand capacity from 4,500 to 6,000 transactions per second, with the<br \/>\npotential to scale up to 12,000 transactions as demand grows.
